This page explains how we collect visitor statistics on the oldmarlogames.com website and which cookies we use. Our games have their own privacy policies.

1. Cookie-free basic statistics (for every visitor)
For every visitor we keep only totals, without cookies and without storing anything on your device:
- which page was viewed, on which day and at what hour,
- which language the site was opened in,
- device type, operating system and browser (from the technical information your browser sends),
- where the visit came from (e.g. the domain of a search engine or social network),
- the country (derived from your IP address using a database on our own server),
- clicks on buttons and links on the site (e.g. store buttons).
Your IP address is not stored. It is used only for a moment to determine the country and is then discarded. To count unique visitors per day, a hash is made from your IP address and browser information with a secret key that changes every day; it is kept only in the server's memory, never written to disk and deleted at the end of the day. It cannot be used to identify you.
Legal basis: our legitimate interest in measuring the reach of our site and improving it (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). You can object to this processing (see below).
2. Cookies (only with your consent)
If you choose “Accept” in the notice at the bottom of the screen, we use our own cookies to measure visits in a little more detail: returning visits, session duration, pages per visit, entry and exit pages and time spent on pages. If you choose “Decline”, these cookies are not used, and any that were set are deleted.

These cookies do not contain your name, email address, IP address or any advertising ID. Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, § 25(1) TDDDG); for necessary cookies § 25(2) TDDDG. You can withdraw or change your consent at any time with the “Cookie settings” link at the very bottom of the page.
3. Where the data is kept and for how long
All statistics are kept only on our own server in Germany. We do not use third-party analytics such as Google Analytics, advertising networks or tracking pixels; the data is never sold or shared. Totals are kept for at most 2 years. For the country lookup, the free DB-IP database (IP Geolocation by DB-IP, CC BY 4.0) is downloaded to our server; lookups never leave the server.
4. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing and objection, and you can withdraw consent at any time. Because the visitor statistics consist only of totals, they cannot be linked to any individual. For questions, write to privacy@oldmarlogames.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (e.g. the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information of Baden-Württemberg).
